Marrowmere League

The league of lake city-states, among them Solvaine, Claupiose and Ienvaune, that signed the Accord of Surmave in 0 R. In 220 those three cities founded the Lake Treasury, a joint bank to fund their galley fleet and the seed of Caelvenne's wealth. From 255 the League cities fought the forty-year Marrowmere Wars over lake tolls, hiring Hrodvald raiders, Tharaxi spears and Castavari knights by turns and burning Ienvaune's harbor in 271. The Peace of the Nine in 294 ended the wars and turned the League into Caelvenne. Its lake-guard people of the north shore, the Marrowmere Wardens, drowned in the Great Flood of 539, and the Drowned Court claims descent from them. ---
