Isle of the Accord

The island in Lake Surmave where, at the end of the Century of Fire, the six surviving great powers and Tharax signed the Accord of Surmave in 0 R., fixing borders and starting the calendar. The signatories were Vareth, Wessary, the Marrowmere League, the Twin Crowns of Castavar and Lasdara, the Sarvani Khaasarate, the Three Thrones of the East and Tharax; Hrodvald sent no envoy and has never signed. In the popular version of the Peace of the Nine in 294, nine sisters met on the same island and swore on a mirror, and the Nine Houses claim descent from them. Accord clams in the island's shallows yield small, prized pearls.
