River Nhal

The great river of the Verdant Deep, wide, slow and full of things that bite, flowing south to the sea through delta swamps. Caimans twenty feet long lurk in its pools, along with razor-fish, electric eels, anacondas, manatee-like river-cows and ten-foot serpent-fish the Tzalan harpoon from kapok canoes; its mosquitoes carry the jungle fever. Chelpan's river villages line it, and both Zarvand's spice-forts and Kaishon's garrisons sit on it.
