The Deep Sands

The deep desert south and west of the Talodin, claimed by the Khaasar as a province and governed by nobody. It belongs in practice to the Deep Sands Nomads, the oldest people of the Sunmaw, some fifteen thousand in six tents: the Durkis, the Kumir, the Wind-Eaters, the Salt-Walkers of the Shorooq flats, the Addax Hunters, and the Whisperers, who claim to hear the spirits of the dunes and serve as the desert's oracles. They move between oases the Khaasar's maps do not show, trade in a circle of water, salt and fire with the Qaflan Salt-Bearers and the Hizkari, and consider reading a city sickness.
