Llovo March

The lower Llovo valley west of Grarañe is so thick with cork oaks that it is called a forest of them, stripped for cork every nine years. Black Llovo bulls are bred here and run through the streets on the saints' days. The bull-runs are, as everyone quietly knows, rites of the Grove of Lasdara with a church calendar painted over them. The destrier stud at the Craucan lies within the March. The March's black cork-hill pigs fatten on acorns under the oaks, and Llovo vipers shelter in its dry stone walls.
