Lake Farvig

The great lake at the center of the Clanholds, frozen half the year; in winter it freezes solid and the clans race sleds and fight across the ice. Krasvuv stands on its shore, and Hrodvald longships sail it in summer. In the Great Winter of 1089 it froze to the bottom in the shallows, and in 1041 Hearthking Farrun Icebrand died in a longship on its water. Farvig whitefish are netted through the ice all winter, and huge ice-pike live in its dark water; the gray Farvig goose and the giant Farvig elk take its name. The River Farrur feeds it from the west, and the Farvig Outflow drains it north to the sea.
