Chomtholk

Chomtholk is the chief city of Chomkel, the northwestern wool country, and stands on the road from Hethlend to the Vargate and the Hrodvald clanholds beyond. In 283 the Hrodvald under Hearthking Fevar Red-Axe raided down the Fur Trail as far as Chomtholk, which led Aldmere to build its first fortress at the Vargate; the Hrodvald still tell that he came home with nothing but bread. The Moot's clerks say a burgher-reeve of Chomtholk fell asleep during the debate of 352 and still sleeps under the Moot hall. Today it is the stronghold of the Gray Choir, whose gray-clad singers crowd its streets at dawn. A road also runs east from it to Lultolor and Thalmirn.
